Coming off of her role in the Academy Award-winning Shape of Water, Sally Hawkins will be executive producing the U.K bombing drama CORDELIA from writer-director Adrian Shergold. Antonia Campbell-Hughes will play the titular role, with Michael Gambon and Johnny Flynn also starring.
Hawkins has backed the psychological thriller since its inception. The film follows Cambell-Hughes as Cordelia, a young actress who is on the London subway system on July 7, 2005, when terrorists attack the carriage she is traveling in. The film will pick up the young woman’s story 12 years after the attack when she is attempting to get on with her life in London. Campbell-Hughes penned the script along with Shergold. Kevin Proctor of POW Films is producing.
This will serve as Hawkins first executive-producing gig. She was nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards for her role in The Shape of Water, where she played a mute cleaning woman who falls in love with a fishlike creature. She is represented by CAA.
