Three more actors have RSVP’d for the upcoming indie BEATRIZ AT DINNER. The dinner party dramedy has added Salma Hayek, Chloe Sevigny, and Jay Duplass to its cast which includes John Lithgow, Connie Britton, and Nino Arianda.
Known for films such as Cedar Rapids and the family comedy Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day, Miguel Arteta is set to direct the screenplay written by School of Rock scribe Mike White. Christine Vachon from Killer Films will produce alongside Bron Studios.
The story centers on a holistic medicine practitioner who feels out of her element when she attends a dinner party at a wealthy client’s house after her car breaks down.
Hayek can be heard next in Seth Rogen’s R-rated animated feature Sausage Party. She also stars in the upcoming comedy Drunk Parents opposite Alec Baldwin and is currently working on The Hitman’s Bodyguard and How to Be a Latin Lover. She is repped by CAA and Management 360.
Sevigny was recently seen on the last season of American Horror Story and on the Netflix series Bloodline.
On the big screen, she recently starred opposite Kate Beckinsale in Walt Stillman’s Love and Friendship and was recently cast in the Andrew Haigh-directed Lean on Pete and starring Steve Buscemi. Other films she has in the works include The Snowman with Michael Fassbender and The Dinner with Richard Gere. She is repped by WME, Brillstein Entertainment.
Duplass currently stars in the Amazon series Transparent and has appeared in episodes of The Mindy Project. He wrote the upcoming comedy Table 19 starring Anna Kendrick and has produced numerous critically acclaimed films including Tangerine, The Overnight, and The Bronze. He is repped by ICM Partners.
