Salma Hayek and Shohreh Aghdashloo have joined the cast of SEPTEMBERS OF SHIRAZ. Based on the book by Dalia Sofer, the story follows an Iranian man who is unjustly arrested by a new extremist government in 1981 Iran. Hayek will play the man’s wife, while Aghdashloo will play the family’s housekeeper.
Wayne Blair will direct from a script by Hanna Weg. Gerard Butler, Heidi Jo Markel and Alan Siegel will produce. Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, John Thompson and Mark Gill will executive produce.
Hayek was last seen in “Grown Ups 2” and looks like she’s gonna kick some major ass in Joe Lynch’s “Everly.”
Aghdashloo was last heard in “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters” and will soon appear in Jon Stewart’s “Rosewater.”
Hayek and Aghdashloo are repped by CAA.
