Sam Raimi Heads to “The Outpost”

Based on the book “The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor,” the action drama follows the true story of Combat Outpost Keating, one of America’s deadliest battles in Afghanistan. The siege occurred in October 2009, when 53 U.S. troops were attacked by Taliban insurgents that outnumbered them 8 to 1. Raimi is also set to produce the project and could possibly direct down the line.

Raimi is best known as the director behind Columbia’s “Spider-Man” franchise, horror thriller “Drag Me to Hell,” and Disney’s “Oz the Great and Powerful.” He has also produced a number of horror flicks, including “The Grudge” and “The Possession.” Next up, Raimi is on board to produce a remake of “Poltergeist” for MGM and a reboot of “The Grudge.”
