Sam Rockwell and Danny Huston have entered talks to sign on and join Nicolas Cage and Malin Akerman in the upcoming Simon West-helmed thriller MEDALLION. The project, which was a very hot (and well paying) spec sale for writer David Guggenheim in 2010, has been fast tracked, and previously had Clive Owen and Jason Statham in talks for the lead role, before Cage signed on. The project, which centers on a recently released bankrobber who attempts to find his kidnapped daughter in a game of cat and mouse with an old crew member and the murderous driver of a commandeered New York taxi cab, is moving aggressively to meet an early/mid-2011 start date. Rockwell, who was most recently seen in “Iron Man 2” has several projects in the works, with “Cowboys & Aliens” releasing soon, and “Cogan’s Trade now filming”. Huston, meanwhile was most recently seen in “Clash of the Titans” and has two films ready for release in “The Conspirator” and “Playoff”.
Rockwell is repped by Gersh. Huston is repped by ICM.
