Arash Amel’s high-concept science fiction idea has its script from Max Hurwitz, and now it has its stars. Sam Worthington and Ruth Wilson have signed on to play space pioneers in THE TITAN.
The story follows a military family who take part in a deep-space exploration experiment. Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service) will also star. Lennart Ruff will direct.
Amel, who broke with the Aaron Eckhart starrer, Erased, has been busy lately with four scripts completed, one announced, and the recently optioned Made in Sweden about a Swedish gang that goes on a crime spree after stealing weapons.
He seems pretty pleased with the pre-production process, and 42, Automatik, and Motion Capital have been getting along like gangbusters. Amel has said:
“In Brian (Kavanaugh-Jones – Automatik) and Ben (Pugh – 42), I’ve been lucky enough to find smart, dedicated producing partners to embark on this adventure with, and we now find ourselves surrounded by a highly talented group of artists led by Ruth Wilson and Sam Worthington, under the direction of the incredible Lennart Ruff. I’m very excited that this team will be bringing this passion project to the screen, and to continue the relationship with Automatik, 42, and Motion Picture Capital.”
The film starts shooting in Europe this January.
All involved are repped by CAA.
