John Francis Daley has announced that Samm Levine and Martin Starr will likely be joining him for VACATION. The reboot of the classic Chevy Chase franchise will star Ed Helms as Rusty Griswold, the son of Clark Griswold, who is now a father in his own right and takes his family on a road trip vacation. There’s no word yet on who they will play but they join an impressive cast including original cast members Chase and Beverly D’Angelo, along with newcomers Keegan-Michael Key, Chris Hemsworth, Charlie Day, and Christina Applegate.
The project would be a reteaming of Daley, Levine, and Starr, who all starred on the short lived but much beloved series Freaks and Geeks. Levine went on to roles in Not Another Teen Movie and Inglourious Basterds, as well as a minor arc on ABC’s Selfie. Next up, Levine has been cast in comedy The Night is Young and will star in and produce comedy Promoted. After Freaks, Starr stuck with TV for a while, starring in the Starz series Party Down and later Silicon Valley. On the big screen, Starr appeared in Knocked Up, Superbad, and This is the End. Starr’s most recent comedy Playing It Cool is awaiting release.
