Sarah Paulson is joining Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara in CAROL.
The film is based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel “The Price of Salt” and centers on a lonely department store employee who befriends a housewife in the middle of a divorce and the two set out across the country while being pursued by a private investigator hired by a jealous ex-husband. Paulson will play Blanchett’s former lover.
Elizabeth Karlsen, Tessa Ross and Stephen Woolley produce with Todd Haynes directing.
Paulson stars on “American Horror Story” and has appeared in the critically acclaimed films “Mud” and “12 Years a Slave.”
She is repped by UTA.
