NBC’s iconic sketch comedy show SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE has added three new featured players to its ensemble ahead of the 42nd season premiere: Chicago-based improviser Alex Moffat, America’s Got Talent finalist Melissa Villaseñor, and Mikey Day, who has served as a writer on the show since 2013. The new performers will be included in the cast when the show returns on October 1.
Over the summer, NBC announced that veteran players Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah would not be returning to the show, as well as relative newcomer Jon Rudnitsky.
Moffat has performed at The Second City, The Annoyance, and Zanies. Day appeared as a featured player in Maya Rudolph’s variety show, Maya and Marty that aired earlier in the summer. Villaseñor, who has also appeared in several sketches for the Más Mejor digital network, was a popular impressionist on Talent, where she showcased several of her best celebrity imitations:
Villaseñor is repped by CAA, Barry Katz Entertainment, and Primary Wave Entertainment.
Day is repped by ICM.
Moffat is repped by APA and 3 Arts Entertainment.
