Scoot McNairy Cast in Season 3 of HBO’s Anthology Series “True Detective”

Godless star SCOOT MCNAIRY has been cast in the third season of HBO’s crime anthology series , The Tracking Board has confirmed. Mahershala Ali, Carmen Ejogo, and Stephen Dorff have also been cast.

Season 3 will take place in the heart of the Ozarks and follows a mystery that plays out in three separate time periods. Ali is set to play the lead role of police detective Wayne Hays.

McNairy has been cast as Tom, a father who struggles with a terrible loss which connects him to two state police detectives over ten years ago.

Nic Pizzolatto, who was the sole writer of the first season of the series returns as the only writer of the third season, with the exception of Episode 4, which he co-wrote alongside David Milch. Directing the third season is Jeremy Saulnier alongside Pizzolatto, who will make his directorial debut. Pizzolatto will also serve as showrunner and as an executive producer.

Scott Stephens, Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Cary Joji Fukunaga, who all worked on the first season will serve as executive producers, along with Saulnier, Scott Stephens, Steve Golin, Bard Dorros, and Richard Brown.

McNairy recently wrapped The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter which stars Josh Brolin and Danny McBride. He was also cast in an upcoming feature titled The Parts You Lose. He is represented by .
