Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill have signed on to pen the script for the big screen adaptation for THE OUTER LIMITS for MGM. Based on the 1960s TV show of the same name, the sci-fi project will focus on a single episode of the show “Demon With a Glass Hand.” The story centers on a man with no memory of his life prior to the last 10 days whose left hand has been replaced by an advanced computer. The man realizes he’s being hunted by an alien race that believes he is the key to their survival but he soon learns the terrifying truth.
Derrickson, who is known for writing sci-fi flicks like “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” is the current director for the upcoming Marvel property “Doctor Strange.” He’s also on board to pen the script for “The Birds” remake for Universal and the sequel to his 2012 horror flick “Sinister 2” with Cargill. The duo also wrote a draft of sci-fi thriller “Deus Ex,” which centers on a worldwide epidemic that only one man can fix.
