The film is set in a paranormal world where a New York police officer investigates supernatural events and occurrences including possessions, demons and werewolves. Mark Wahlberg was reportedly offered the leading role but turned it down. Jerry Bruckheimer will producer under his own banner.

The supernatural and horror genres are a bit of a forte for Derrickson, who wrote and directed “The Exorcism Of Emily Rose” and penned the script for “Urban Legends: Final Cut”. He is also the man behind the upcoming Ethan Hawke horror film “Sinister”. He is serving as an executive producer for the recently wrapped “Devil’s Knot”, a film he wrote telling the true story of three teens who were controversially tried and convicted of triple homicide.
