The film adaptation of the popular video game DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION (aka DEUS EX) has taken strides in the right direction, tapping “Sinister” director Scott Derrickson to helm the project and rewrite the script with C. Robert Cargill.
Although the details of the film are kept under wraps, it will follow the game series which is set in a technologically advanced but chaotic future where a nano-tech enhanced counter terrorist unravels a conspiracy on a global scale.
Adrian Askarieh and Roy Lee will produce.
Derrickson is a director well versed in the horror genre. Besides this year’s “Sinister”, he also wrote and directed “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”, “Hellraiser 5: Inferno” and wrote the script for “Urban Legends: Final Cut”. He recently wrapped on the crime drama “Devil’s Knot” and is repped by WME.
