Seth Gordon To The Rescue: Director In Talks For Dwayne Johnson’s “Baywatch” Movie

is in talks to direct Paramount’s Baywatch movie. The Horrible Bosses helmer would join star in the film based on the classic NBC television series.

Gordon’s past credits include the Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy starrer Identify Thief, Four Christmases, and gamer documentary The King of Kong. He has also worked extensively in television, directing episodes of Modern Family, Community, The Goldbergs and The Jim Gaffigan Show.

Paramount is hoping that Gordon will breathe new life into the long-gestating project, which was originally in development at DreamWorks in 2004. Several different have been attached and dozens of writers, with Damian Shannon & Mark Swift penning the latest draft. While plot details are being kept under wraps, given Gordon’s background, it is safe to say that Paramount is going the comedic route. 

Johnson is also attached to produced with his partner Dany Garcia through his Seven Bucks production banner, along with Johnson’s San Andreas Beau Flynn and Montecito Pictures.
