Seth Rogen Adapting Comic Series “The Boys” for Amazon

Seth Rogen is bringing an adaptation of Garth Ennis’ comic series to TV. Amazon has announced today that it has greenlit an original one-hour drama series adaptation of  The Boys. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and showrunner Eric Kripke (Supernatural/Revolution/Timeless) will be spearheading the project.

The logline for the series is: In a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame, The Boys centers on a group of vigilantes known informally as “the boys,” who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.

Filming for the eight-episode series will begin in the spring of 2018 with a 2019 release. This project has been in the works for a long with, with director Adam McKay previously working on a feature film adaptation before Rogen and Goldberg landed the rights. Rogen and Goldberg also serve as executive producers on the upcoming Hulu series Future Man starring Josh Hutcherson.
