Seth Rogen is bringing an adaptation of Garth Ennis’ comic series THE BOYS to TV. Amazon has announced today that it has greenlit an original one-hour drama series adaptation of The Boys. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and showrunner Eric Kripke (Supernatural/Revolution/Timeless) will be spearheading the project.
The logline for the series is: In a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame, The Boys centers on a group of vigilantes known informally as “the boys,” who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.
Filming for the eight-episode series will begin in the spring of 2018 with a 2019 release. This project has been in the works for a long with, with director Adam McKay previously working on a feature film adaptation before Rogen and Goldberg landed the rights. Rogen and Goldberg also serve as executive producers on the upcoming Hulu series Future Man starring Josh Hutcherson.
