The duo of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are furthering their comic book fandom with a feature adaptation of INVINCIBLE. The Sausage Party pair, who adapted the comic series Preacher for AMC, will team with Invincible creator Robert Kirkman for the Universal pic.
Invincible follows the story of Mark Grayson, a normal high school student who is the son of the most powerful superhero on the planet. Soon enough, he inherits his own set of superpowers.
Created in 2003, The series is Kirkman’s second-longest running title after the pop culture phenomenon The Walking Dead. Rogen and Goldberg are set to write, direct, and produce the adaptation. Kirkman has also signed on to produce under his production banner Skybound Entertainment alongside David Alpert, Bryan Furst, and Sean Furst. The project falls under Skybound’s first-look deal with Universal. James Weaver from Point Grey will also produce.
Rogen and Goldberg have worked on numerous projects together including the hit comedy This is the End and the Neighbors franchise. They also served as producers for James Franco’s The Disaster Artist and are currently filming the sci-fi comedy Future Man.
This news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Rogen is repped by UTA and Principal Entertainment. Goldberg is repped by UTA and Integral Artists.
