Hot on the heels of the opening weekend success of their R-rated animated comedy Sausage Party, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have another non-animated and less raunchy project ready to go at FX. The duo will serve as producers of the futuristic comedy SINGULARITY from writer Sonny Lee.
Lee created the comedy which is set in the future when artificial intelligence greatly surpasses human intelligence, resulting in profound changes to our society. Singularity sparked a bidding war when it hit the market in May. After all the dust settled, FX came out on top and in an unlikely move, ordered a pilot off of a pitch.
The show will be similar in tone to Rogen and Goldberg’s all-star disaster movie This Is the End. Lee will also serve executive producer with Rogen and Goldberg under their Point Grey shingle.
This continues Rogen and Goldberg’s move to television. Preacher, which they executive produce, wrapped their first season on AMC while their half-hour comedy Future Man is headed to Hulu. Rogen is repped by UTA and Principal Entertainment LA. Goldberg is repped by UTA and Integral Artists.
Lee has served as a producer and writer for Silicon Valley and The Real O’Neals. He is also co-executive producing Girlboss which is slated to debut on Netflix in 2017. He is repped by WME.
