Shakira may sing “She Wolf” but she’ll be playing Gazelle in Disney’s Zootopia, which looks to revive the Disney anthropomorphic-animal movie (they even explain anthropomorphism in the teaser below).
The film follows Judy Hops, voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin, a suburban bunny with dreams of being a Zootopia police officer. Since most of the police in Zootopia are the larger animals, Judy is stuck as a meter maid.
For the film, directors Rich Moore and Byron Howard extensively researched animals at Animal Kingdom in Orlando. They learned to combine the proper organic movements of certain animals with the artificial ones that make them more human, thus creating a universal basis for animal movement that still allows each species to be unique in its movement and body language.
