Shirley MacLaine is in early talks to join roadtrip comedy TAMMY, co-written by Melissa McCarthy of “Bridesmaids” fame.
Story follows a woman who is laid off from her job, discovers her husband is having an affair, and decides to go on a road trip with her foul-mouthed, diabetic grandmother. MacLaine would play the grandmother.
Tate Taylor and Kevin Messick will produce.
MacLaine, a veteran actress, has recently starred in comedy/drama biopic “Bernie” and will be seen next in “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”.
She is repped by ICM.
