Simon Barrett and Adam Wingard are closing in on a deal to write and direct, respectively, a remake of I SAW THE DEVIL, a South Korean thriller. The film, which originally came out in 2010, follows the story of an elite special agent as he seeks revenge against the murderer of his wife and unborn child. Snoot Entertainment’s Keith and Jessica Calder will serve as producers along with Spencer Silna and Adi Shankar, who produced Pete Travis’s “Dredd.”
After working on the horror/thriller films, “V/H/S” and “You’re Next,” Barrett and Wingard are reteaming for another edge-of-your-seat thriller. Due to their success in the genre, it seems a perfect fit for the two to jump onto this project. This project comes on the heels of their new movie “The Guest,” a thriller about a family surrounded by mysterious accidental deaths that all seem to be connected to a solider who claims to have been friends with their son while in service. “The Guest” is set to premiere in the US September 17th.
