Actor Simon McBurney has joined THE CONJURING 2. The cast includes Francis O’Connor, Vera Farmiga, and Patrick Wilson, with the latter two reprising their roles as Lorraine and Ed Warren. It will be produced by Rob Cowan and directed by Peter Safran, and production begins in L.A. later this month.
The first film, released in the summer of 2013, grossed over $318 million worldwide from its $20 million budget and received positive reviews from critics, paving the way for its sequel. The Conjuring 2 will follow the original by telling the story of another haunting, this time regarding the daughter of O’Connor’s character.
McBurney is a prolific actor known for his roles in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Theory of Everything, and Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation, amongst many other films. He has also acted in numerous television shows, and he voiced the house elf Kreacher in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.
