We’re hearing (via Latino Review) that based on some leaked credits, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY will have some pretty interesting cameos. According to the credits, Stan Lee will play a Xandarian ladies’ man, Nathan Fillion will play a ‘monstrous inmate,’ while musician Rob Zombie will voice the Ravager navigator. Writer/director James Gunn will pull a Hitchcock with a cameo as a maskless Sakaaran. Based on the Marvel comic characters, the sci-fi superhero project follows a group of interstellar criminals who are forced to become interstellar superheroes in order to protect the galaxy. The guardians consist of Chris Pratt as Peter Quill / Star-Lord, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Zoe Saldana as Gamora and Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon.
Lee is famous for having brief cameos in many of the Marvel properties, so it’s no surprise he’ll show up here but, as always, it’s kind of exciting to see the creator interacting with the characters of his imagination. Fillion is another fan favorite best known for his roles in “Firefly” and “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.” Zombie is the musician/writer/director whose music has appeared in “The Matrix” franchise and the “Halloween” franchise, which he also wrote and directed. This isn’t Gunn’s first time in front of the camera with Zombie and Fillion – he also made a cameo in his comedy/horror “Slither” back in 2006 with the duo and again in 2010’s “Super.”
