On the heels of the original series’ 50th anniversary, CBS has announced a new televised STAR TREK set for 2017. The new show will premiere with a special preview broadcast on CBS. The premiere episode and all subsequent first-run episodes will then be available exclusively on CBS All Access, the network’s live streaming and digital subscription service.
It will be the first original series developed specifically for U.S. audiences for All Access. Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin will executive produce the series. Kurtzman co-wrote both the 2009 film Star Trek and its sequel, the 2013 Star Trek Into Darkness. He is also an executive producer on the CBS series Scorpion, Limitless, and Hawaii Five-O.
