It’s another day on earth so we’re (of course) getting another STAR WARS EPISODE VII rumor. Saoirse Ronan has reportedly read for an unknown role. Who knows if she liked it, if the producers liked her or if it even happened at all. What I can say is they’re not exactly holding casting calls for a movie with this much secrecy, so if she did indeed read for a role it’s fair assumption that she could very well get the part. Whatever that part may be. Somewhere out there real news is doing somersaults in its grave.
Screenwriter Michael Arndt (“Toy Story 3”) is probably ghost white with fear on completing his next draft while director JJ Abrams (“Star Trek”) is no doubt beet red with anger about someone (possibly, maybe) talking. The producers Simon Kinberg, George Lucas and Lawrence Kasdan are probably fine. Just fine.
The only movie I’ve seen Ronan in is “City of Ember” a movie so disappointing that even Bill Murray couldn’t save it. I’ll try not to hold that against her. I should probably also get around to watching “Hanna.” She was last seen in the non-awesome “The Host” (The Korean kaiju film being the awesome one) and will next be seen in “How I Live Now” and Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel.”
She is repped by CAA.
