Starz and BBC are teaming up to develop Richard House’s THE KILLS with Playground Entertainment. The political conspiracy thriller chronicles the global manhunt for a British mercenary who flees after stealing $50 million from an American reconstruction project in Iraq. The project will air on both Starz and BBC and is being produced by Colin Callender under his Playground banner as part of his deal at Starz. “The Kills” is actually a series of books, which include “Sutler,” “The Massive,” “The Hit,” and “The Kill.”
Callender’s past projects with Starz include miniseries “The White Queen” and “Dancing on the Edge.” He was also executive producer for NBC’s short-lived horror series “Dracula.” Callender is currently attached to executive produce miniseries for both Starz and BBC, “The Missing” and “Wolf Hall,” respectively.
