Stellan Skarsgard and Marianne Sagebrecht have joined the cast of HECTOR AND THE SEARCH FOR HAPPINESS.
The dramedy, an adaptation of Francois Lelord’s book of the same name, follows a depressed psychiatrist (Simon Pegg) who goes on a globetrotting adventure to find out what makes people happy. Skarsgard will play a banker and Sagebrecht will play a medium whose lost her ability to predict futures. Rosamund Pike and Christopher Plummer will also star.
Judy Tossell and Marc Ionner will produce.
Skarsgard most recently starred in the summer blockbuster “The Avengers” and will next be seen in Lars von Trier’s erotic drama “The Nymphomaniac”. He is repped by ICM and The Rights House.
Sagebrecht has not been in a film since 200’s “Left Luggage” but will next star in “Louisa and the Jackpot”, which is currently wrapped.
