Steve Carell has signed on as the lead role in the Robert Zemekis drama MARWENCOL. The film tells the true story of Mark Hogancamp, who was left brain-damaged and financially broken after a brutal attack outside a bar. To help deal with his inner demons and regain his hand-eye coordination, he begins building a 1/6th scale WWII village in his backyard, populated by dolls that become real to him. The film is based on the 2010 documentary “Marwencol” directed by Jeff Malmberg.
Known for his role in the hit NBC series The Office, Carell was recently in the Oscar nominated film Foxcatcher. He is set to star in The Big Short, alongside of Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling.
