Floriana Lima is jumping from DC to Marvel. The Supergirl star has joined Season 2 of Netflix’s The Punisher, Tracking Board has confirmed.
Additionally, the Jon Bernthal-led anti-hero drama has added Josh Stewart and Giorgia Whigham for the new season, also in series regular roles.
“Josh, Floriana and Giorgia are all remarkable talents and we can’t wait for the audience to see what we have in store for them in the second season of Marvel’s The Punisher,” said executive producer and head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb in a statement.
Lima will play the role of Krista Dumont, described as a smart, compassionate and driven psychotherapist for military veterans, while Stewart will play John Pilgrim, a man whose calm exterior belies a ruthless interior. Despite having left behind a life of violence, circumstances will force him to use his old skills and bring him into Frank Castle’s world. Whigham will play Amy Bendix, a street-smart grifter with a mysterious past.
“We are incredibly excited to have Josh, Floriana and Giorgia joining the cast of Marvel’s The Punisher and seeing them bring their talents to the next chapter in the Frank Castle story.” added showrunner Steve Lightfoot.
Season 1 cast members Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, and Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle are all returning for the second season, though there’s no word yet if Deborah Ann Woll will once again reprise her role as Karen Page.
