“We’re three seasons all in,” Harris told TV Guide. “We’ve intentionally been very truthful and factual and loyal to the books.”

Meanwhile, Count Olaf is never far behind, using ever more ridiculous disguises to try to claim the Baudelaire family fortune.
Season 1, Episodes 1-4 – A Series of Unfortunate Events features the tragic lives of the three Baudelaire children, in which they lose their parents in a fire and must evade the clutches of Count Olaf, a despicable villain after their family fortune. Along the way, they encounter strange guardian after strange guardian, each new tragedy observed and narrated by melancholy author Lemony Snicket.
The series, which Netflix cites as having a multigenerational appeal, centers on a trio of orphans that are sent to live with bizarre relatives as they attempt to avoid a sinister, money-grubbing uncle who’s out to kill them, all while working to solve the mysterious murder of their parents.
