Only buying shows that have a real shot of going forward/ have the right auspices.
We all knew it was coming. We know how this case ended famously in a Not Guilty verdict for O.J. Simpson in the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. So why was is so hard to watch?
All season we’ve watched tensions in the courtroom simmer, and this episode they finally boiled over, causing for some massive eruptions, particularly between Johnny Cochran and Christopher Darden.
The entire series thus far, the jurors have been relegated to mere extras. They are pawns in Johnny Cochran’s and Marcia Clark’s game. This episode they were front and center, which made for an interesting sidetrack, but ultimately hurt the episode.
When American Crime Story first began I would say that there were three iconic moments from the O. J. Simpson. One was the White Bronco car chase. The other was exactly where I was when the verdict was read live over the airwaves. The third was the gloves… O. J. trying on the gloves.
The People V. O.J. Simpson focuses heavily on lead prosecutor Marcia Clark and her struggle with being the only woman in a boy’s club, one who works mandatory 70 hour weeks on top of being a mother – and one who is living under the intense scrutiny of an entire nation.
Who are you rooting for? What’s keeping me on the edge of my seat despite knowing how it all concludes is how surprising it is when I am suddenly realizing I’m sympathizing with a character I didn’t think I would.
One gripe I’ve heard about this show so far is that it’s not clear whose story this is. However, I am enjoying every piece of this ever-moving story and the latest episode, “100 Percent Not Guilty” was perhaps the best yet.
If you were over the age of five in 1994 when the American Crime Story: The People V. OJ Simpson events actually happened, the episode title probably gives away what this installment focuses on. Does a white Ford Bronco ring a bell?
