Jake Kasdan is set to sit in the director’s chair for the reboot of the popular ’90s board game adventure movie, Jumanji. Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinker penned the script which was originally drafted by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Matt Tolmach will serve as the producer alongside Bill Teitler.
With a release date set for next Christmas, Sony Pictures is not playing games about getting their Jumanji remake off the ground. The studio has tapped Scott Rosenberg to rewrite the reboot, with Jeff Pinkner consulting.
Logline: Follows the true story of Thomas and Rosemarie Uva, married ex-cons who made a name for themselves when they started holding up mafia social clubs owned by the Gambino and Bonanno crime families throughout New York City in the early 1990s.
