Between January 1st and January 31st, 2022, we tracked a total of 11 new feature specs hitting the market. Compared to last month, we are seeing a 15% decrease in the material out. That is fairly standard for the time of the year, thanks to the holidays. In terms of successes, of the 11 specs out, 4 have some type of attachment.

Logline: Set in an alternate version of 1880s Seattle, where the city has been walled in and a toxic gas has turned many of its remaining residents into “Rotters,” aka zombies. The story centers on a young widow who hunts for her teen son in the Seattle underworld, while dealing with airship pirates, a criminal overlord and heavily armed refugees.

Logline: Follows the story of man who fakes his own death to escape his old self and meets a woman who is also in the process of trying to escape her old life.

Logline: Story centers on a group of people as they struggle to survive in the aftermath of the February 27, 2010 Chilean earthquake that hit 8.8 on the Richter scale, created a tsunami and claimed the lives of almost 500 people.

Logline: Story centers on a loving father who buys a used clown costume to dress up in after the clown-for-hire cancels on the 6-year-olds birthday. However, once the party ends, the father discovers the costume won’t come off, and even worse, that it is slowly transforming him into a blood-thirsty monster, ready to kill anyone who tries to take the costume off of him.

Logline: The story follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps, who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.

Logline: A ballet dancer wins the lead in “Swan Lake” and is perfect for the role of the delicate White Swan – Princess Odette – but slowly loses her mind as she becomes more and more like Odile, the Black Swan.

Logline: Follows the true story of Formula One champion Niki Lauda’s rivalry with English racer James Hunt after one of their races left Lauda in a coma and almost dead. Lauda would return to the track only six months later.

Logline: Centers on Desmond T. Doss who won the Congressional Medal of Honor, despite refusing to bear arms during WWII on religious grounds. Doss was drafted and ostracized by fellow soldiers for his pacifist stance. But he was no coward. Doss saved 75 men in the Battle of Okinawa, without firing a shot.
