Toby Huss, Cult Leader In “The Invitation,” Reteams With Karyn Kusama on “Destroyer”
The Los Angeles-set crime thriller stars Nicole Kidman, Tatiana Maslany, Sebastian Stan, Bradley Whitford, Toby Kebbell and Scoot McNairy.
Scoot McNairy and Toby Kebbell have also signed on to join Tatiana Maslany and Sebastian Stan in the next film from The Invitation director Karyn Kusama.
Destroyer follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell (Kidman) who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.
Plot details remain vague, but it’s known that Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi wrote the script and are producing with Kusama, with whom they previously worked on The Invitation and Aeon Flux.
