The team will develop projects from inception of idea to series by hearing pitches, reading spec scripts, identifying available IP, crafting and delivering notes to executive producers, and communicating creative direction between network and studios and production companies.
Field pitches, identify trends, and help establish the strategic development goals for the Drama Department.
Works with the EVP, Physical Production & Administration and SVP, Physical Production and their Coordinators. As directed, advises production personnel of WB policies and procedures.
Be a voracious reader and provide research, creative input and books for consideration for development.
Launch an IP group targeting both domestic and international sources for USG (i.e., books, articles, life rights, podcasts, formats, etc.) as well as identifying IP that aligns with talents creative requests.
Solicit appropriate development projects and evaluate new submissions, providing detailed coverage and/or script notes as needed. Oversee the pitch, acquisition and development process.
Manage phones, calendars, travel, expense reports, and general office organization. Prepare reading materials and manage distribution. Read/cover writing samples and other creative materials.
Review and coordinate all production related paperwork (including call sheets, production reports, crew lists, wrap reports, etc.).
The position will assist in a wide array of administrative and creative tasks that will benefit the execution of our ordered shows.
