Oscar Isaac is officially set to star in the political thriller A Foreigner at Paramount. Based on David Grann’s 2011 New York Times article, “A Murder Foretold”, the film will be directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon.

Lawrence is in talks to reunite with her Hunger Games director on the adaptation. Based on the novel by Jason Matthews, the story centers on a Russian spy and a CIA agent assigned to compromise the other, but soon find themselves in a charged duel of wills, skills, and forbidden romance.
The book, which tells the story of the true crime that inspired Dostoevsky’s classic Crime and Punishment and the intense process of writing the book, will be published by Penguin Press.
