Oscar Nominee Agnieszka Holland Directing Netflix’s First Polish Language Series
Having already directed episodes of Netflix’s award-winning House of Cards, Holland will tackle the series about an alternative version of Poland in which the Iron Curtain never fell, leaving it as a police state and possibly getting worse if two men can’t uncover the secret behind the current oppressive regime.
The rights to the Bram Stoker estate-approved prequel novel were just sold to Putnam in the US, Transworld in the UK and Michael Lafon in France. Muschietti is in talks to direct with his sister Barbara Muschietti and Roy Lee producing.
The two friends first appeared together in Paul Feig’s blockbuster comedy Bridesmaids and they’ll also appear in Warner Bros.’ Life of the Party due out next summer. Their new comedy centers on a detective who teams up with a puppet to solve a murder.
