critics-choice-excerptThe nominees for the 22nd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards were announced today, and with no surprise, HBO took the top spot raking in 22 nominations while ABC and Netflix tied for second with 14 nods. With critically acclaimed shows like The Americans, the new Donald Glover comedy Atlanta, and the uber-successful The People Vs. OJ Simpson FX ranked fourth.

From “30 Rock” executive producers, Tina Fey and Robert Carlock comes this hilarious new comedy series starring Ellie Kemper (“The Office,” “Bridesmaids”) as a woman who is rescued from a doomsday cult and starts life over as a nanny for an Upper East Side socialite (Jane Krakowski from “30 Rock”) in New York City. Armed with just a backpack, light-up sneakers and a couple way-past-due library books, she takes on a world she didn’t think even existed anymore

Logline: When a hapless janitor in Supervillain City’s Bad Guy Museum accidentally ends up in a dangerous mechanized suit, the easygoing, nonconfrontational head of the henchmen’s Union of Evil has to become a hero in order to save the janitor, and the city.

Logline: A young, narcissistic entrepreneur crashes and burns on the eve of the company’s launch. He leaves Manhattan to move in with his estranged, pregnant sister and his brother-in-law and his 3-year-old nephew, only to end up becoming their nanny.

Logline: When aliens attack by staging versions of ’80s video games on an epic scale, four champion arcade gamers are called back into action to save the world.
