Brendan Fraser has dropped out of JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH 2: MYSTERIOUS TRAVELS due to scheduling conflicts. The sequel to the 3D blockbuster will now be rewritten to focus on the nephew, played by Josh Hutcherson, as the main character.

Brad Peyton has also replaced Eric Brevig as director.
