Australian director Julius Avery has found his newest project in The King of LA, a crime drama based on an original spec from writer Chris Bremner. The project was recently picked up by Ridley Scott and his production banner Scott Free.
The true story of Darnell Garcia who went from star DEA agent to trafficker in the worst corruption scandal in DEA history, moving 100s of millions in product and then being forced to flee for his life. Set in 1970, think Catch Me if You Can meets Scarface.
