Boys Don’t Cry director Kimberly Peirce has signed on to direct Man’s Search for Meaning, based on the best-selling memoir by Viktor Frankl. The rights were picked up earlier this year by Straight Up Films.

Described as Life Is Beautiful in tone, adapts the hopeful memoir written by renowned therapist Viktor Frankl nine days after he was released from a three-year imprisonment in Nazi concentration camps.

The “Boys Don’t Cry” writer-director had been at CAA.
