“Blockers” Looks to be One of Next Year’s Filthier R-Rated Comedies (Video)
Leslie Mann, Ike Barinholtz and John Cena are trying to save their daughter’s virginity in the directorial debut by Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect).
The Tracking Board has confirmed that Janelle Monae and Leslie Mann have been tapped to star opposite Steve Carell in director Robert Zemeckis’ latest film for Universal Pictures, which is currently untitled.
Pitch Perfect scribe Kay Cannon is getting to make her feature directorial debut with The Pact and has tapped John Cena, Leslie Mann, and Ike Barinholtz to star. The project hails from Seth Rogen’s Point Grey and DMG Entertainment.
Follows three parents who, upon discovering that their daughters have made a pact to lose their virginities on prom night, go out and try to stop them before it’s too late.
An aging comic icon, Jackie, has seen better days. Despite his efforts to reinvent himself, the audience only wants to know him as the former television character he once played. A strain on his younger brother and his wife, Jackie is forced to do community service for accosting an audience member. While there, he meets Harmony and the two find inspiration in one another, resulting in surprising consequences.
Last week, it was reported that Leslie Mann is set to star in a comedy written and directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. The film is now titled Troublemaker, and is an adult comedy that deals with the challenges of motherhood.
