Oscar Isaac is officially set to star in the political thriller A Foreigner at Paramount. Based on David Grann’s 2011 New York Times article, “A Murder Foretold”, the film will be directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon.

Star Wars – The Force Awakens‘ Andy Serkis has been confirmed as producer, director and star of the Rumplestiltskin remake Steelskin from Fox. Hossein Amini has been tapped to write the script.
20th Century Fox has hired screenwriter Will Staples to pen the script for Dark Web, based on the remarkable true story of the rise and fall of Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht.
Based on the Boom! comic, a man (studio may be changing protagonist to a woman) is “tagged” with a curse that makes his body decompose. He must choose to either fight the curse or pass it along to someone else.
Fox nabbed the rights to the novel in a $2 million deal amidst a studio bidding war last year, anticipating that the intended trilogy would pay off as their next Maze Runner. Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, who have found great success in the YA genre, are spearheading the project.
The pick-up marks one of the first under Fox’s deal, which gives the studio first-look on any stories published by the online venture, and those written by founders Davis and Joshuah Bearman. The Epic Magazine article centers on Italian gentleman thief Vincenzo Pipino.
The book, which tells the story of the true crime that inspired Dostoevsky’s classic Crime and Punishment and the intense process of writing the book, will be published by Penguin Press.
Logline: After being diagnosed with brain damage following a near drowning, a man is given a drug to regenerate his damaged neurons that has the unintended side effect of improving his intellect and motor skills.
