Taken star Liam Neeson is taking his tough and gruff act to the early ’50s in Marlowe. The spec is written by William Monahan (The Departed) follows Philip Marlowe, a restless and lonely private detective who hasn’t been getting a lot of business — until he meets a beautiful blonde who is searching for her ex-lover.
Tough as nails detective Philip Marlowe is hired by a beautiful blonde to find her ex-lover. As the case unfolds, Marlowe finds out that her ex-lover’s disappearance is part of a bigger mystery. As a result, he becomes wrapped up with one of the more powerful families in Bay Cities who are willing to go to any length’s to protect their fortune.
The African-American private investigator who inspired Raymond Chandler’s fictional character Philip Marlowe is getting his own series from the CW. The network is working with producer Aaron Kaplan to develop Marlowe, with Devon Greggory writing the script based on Launch Pad alum Louise Ransil’s feature script.
