GLAAD has announced its full list of nominees for the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards ahead of its events in Los Angeles on April 2nd and New York City on May 14th, 2016. 27 Shows – 38 Actors — TV Casting Continues to stay busy as pilots round out cast, and series’ look ahead to sweeps.
18 Shows adds 25 new cast members. Highlights including ABC adding some Big Love to fairytale drama Once Upon A Time, CBS asking for double duty on NCIS and Hail Mary, CW finding it’s female lead for their new zombie series, Fox finding Little In Common with a Union, and NBC overloads their Wonder Woman pilot, continues their Battlestar reunion on 17th Precinct, while also casting some key stars for Prime Suspect and a breakout role for Playboy.

Lots and lots of casting news. A few tidbits… FX superhero pilot cast a Battlestar Alum – Bibb set to become a Good Christian Bitch, A Twilight castaway (and current network series star) lands the lead in a new pilot about The Crossing, A King joins Rachel Bilson in Dixie, Two Rescue Me alums adds new shows to their resumes with USA’s Over/Under and HBO’s Boardwalk Empire… and lots more inside.
A&E greenlights a PI drama, CBS grabs a supernatural cop drama, as well as an assistant comedy, Comedy Central revives a dormant Spike pilot, MTV brings us back to 1993 with some B&B, NBC picks up a new “inception-like” spec from Lone Star creator, adds a Brit reboot, a cheaters love story, and an Arrested Development style laugher. Meanwhile, NCIS gets a renewal, Chase doesn’t, and CBS and Comedy Central add directors to their pilots.
CBS adds players to two cop dramas, and a laugher, Fox sees a “Wire” regular return to Fringe, Lifetime finds a lead for Carrie-Anne Moss, while Showtime finds one to star opposite Don Cheadle, Starz finds one to star alone, and TV Land finds a few familiar faces to star in recently greenlit pilots!
ABC Family Adds 1 To The Cinderella Story, and Another For 90’s Icons, CBS adds a fresh recurring to NCIS, while Nickelodeon gives a Big Time Rush to a new star, and Don Cheadle Finds His Lady In A House Of Lies!
Torchwood finds a female lead, Bob Newhart returns to TV, Fox adds a new face to a new pilot, HBO adds a familiar face to a new pilot, NBC adds a Soprano to SVU, and TV Land signs a roster of guest stars for Hot In Cleveland.
CBS adds 4, NBC adds 2, while Fox, Cartoon Network and SyFy add just one.
