NBC has announced that Hairspray will be their fourth live musical event. This will mark the network’s fourth live musical following The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, and the highly successful The Wiz. Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are set to serve as executive producers of the live show. The two were also the producers of the 2007 Hairspray movie musical.

Logline: After the death of her estranged mother, a young girl discovers that her thought-to-be-deceased grandmother is still alive and sets out out on a journey to locate her.

Logline: When a music therapist’s latest pregnancy ends in a stillbirth, her husband decides he can’t handle any more heartbreak and leaves her. As she picks up the pieces of her life, she is surprised to find herself falling for a school counselor who happens to be a woman.

FOX picks up a father/son dating comedy, HBO gets documental with the Tropic Thunder gang, NBC gets into drug trouble, girl trouble and aging trouble, while USA hands out pilot commitments to a trio of new shows, and Community gets a few more episodes thanks to that spectacular Halloween episode!

Logline: Pitched as being the “Mamma Mia” for the Beach Boys music, and set to take place over one lazy summer in the Southern Californian summer of the 1960s.

Logline: A musical story of a city kid forced to move to a conservative town where his love of rock music disrupts his high school and sends the local preacher into a frenzy.

Logline: Story follows a female track star who has distanced herself from her past bad behavior and makes a new best friend without realizing the woman is crazy and framing her for murder.

Logline: The story centers around the son of 9th century ruler, Charlemagne, who sets out to find the meaning of life.
