Simon Cowell will produce the biopic about the man who is credited with having discovered The Beatles, Brian Epstein. Cowell is partnering with IM Global on the project, which previously saw Nicholas Hoult and Jack O’Connell circling the leads.
Jack Black is set to take on the world of polka in The Man Who Would Be Polka King. Black will produce and star in the feature based on the documentary by Joshua Brown and John Mikulak.
O’Connell and Hoult are circling the roles John Lennon and Brian Epstein in a new biopic centered around their legendary relationship throughout the 1960s.
The film is based on the true story of the friendship and collaboration between Roger Ebert and Russ Meyer.
Logline: Centers on Desmond T. Doss who won the Congressional Medal of Honor, despite refusing to bear arms during WWII on religious grounds. Doss was drafted and ostracized by fellow soldiers for his pacifist stance. But he was no coward. Doss saved 75 men in the Battle of Okinawa, without firing a shot.
Logline: Story of 19th-century sideshow attraction Julia Pastrana, a woman whose body was covered with hair, and her romance with her manager. After giving birth to a hair-covered child, both she and the child died and were later mummified and put on display by the manager.
