ROBIN HOOD: ORIGINS

Lionsgate is looking to add Ben Mendelsohn to the cast of Robin Hood: Origins. The Emmy-winning actor is in negotiations to step into the villainous role of the Sheriff of Nottingham opposite Taron Egerton, who is set to play the titular hero.

Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan is in final talks to join Lionsgate’s Robin Hood: Origins. Dornan would join Taron Egerton, who will star as Robin Hood, Jamie Foxx as Little John, and Eve Hewson as Maid Marian. Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders) is directing from a spec script by Joby Harold.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson are producing under their Appian Way banner. Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell are also producing through their Safe House Productions.

Logline: Robin Hood returns from fighting in The Crusades to find that Sherwood Forest is rife with corruption and evil. He forms a band of outlaws and they take matters into their own hands.

DiCaprio’s Appian Way is attached to produce the project.
