Now that the festival’s biggest purchase has been made, things are starting to get a little quieter at Sundance — but that doesn’t mean films aren’t getting snatched up by studios. Acquisitions are still being made on some of the festival’s most buzzed about titles and the first round of awards have been handed out for short filmmaking.

Logline: Based on the true story of a mixed-race girl raised as an aristocratic lady in England at the end of the 18th century, who used her social standing to end slavery in the country.

Tracks 28-year-old financial wizard and billionaire Eric Packer as he traverses Manhattan in his stretch limo. His goal: a haircut at Anthony’s, his father’s old barber. But on this day his driver has to navigate a presidential visit, an attack by anarchists, and a rapper’s funeral. Stuck in traffic, he anxiously monitors the value of the yen on the limo’s computer.

Logline: Set in the near future, celebrity obsession has reached such a scale that the very famous strike deals with scientific labs that culture their viral infections and sell them to fans desperate for a more intimate connection to their idols.

Logline: Story focuses on Surly the squirrel, and his rat friend Buddy as two street-wise rodents upending the solitude of their city park home.

Louis Drax is a brilliant but strange little boy who, every year of his nine-year-old life has experienced a near death accident, but always managed to survive. This year, however, he falls off a cliff and finds himself in a deep coma, drawing his doctor into a strange, fantastical story, as he tries to discover the truth behind Louis’ accident.
