Two new shows have been given put pilot commitments from Fox: Controversy and an untitled workplace comedy from the creators and executive producers of The Grinder.

The upcoming Antoine Fuqua-helmed Wolf Boys, based on the non-fiction book by Dan Slater, has found its writer in Sheldon Turner. TriStar previously secured the rights to the book, which was published earlier this month by Simon & Schuster.

In this action story set within the war on drugs and the criminal world of Mexican cartels, two American teens become killers for organized crime and a Mexican-American detective pursues them.

Logline: Kept under wraps.

Turner set to re-write “Splinter Cell” script.

Logline: An idealistic and madly-in love teenager falls in to a coma and awakes twenty years later. Upon awaking, he sets out to find his girlfriend from twenty years prior.

Logline: Pitched as “The Magnificent Seven” but in a modern setting. A group of Special Forces soldiers are brought in by the mayor of a resort border town to train residents to fight against a violent drug cartel.

Logline: A down-on-his-luck high school teacher convinces two of his students to kidnap his wife so that he can make himself appear more desirable to her by rescuing her and saving their marriage.

Logline: Follows an ex-special forces soldier who teaches rangers how to fight off rhino and elephant poachers lurking in the Zimbabwean bush.

CBS has picked up TV rights to the book THE TRUE ADVENTURES OF A TERRIBLE DATER, written by Susan Brightbill, which it will develop as a 1/2 hour sitcom with Sheldon Turner and Jennifer Klein. Series will center on a single woman in Chicago as she navigates the adult dating world.

Logline: Story centers on two San Francisco cops, who are partners and best friends, whose fathers were also partners and best friends before them, who stumble upon a major cover up, and must enlist the help of their dads to help crack the case.

Logline: Follows the story of five mutated survivors after a devastating chemical explosion, which has left the world’s only superhero dead and his city trapped in a dangerous and mysterious quarantine. Hearing Eric Bana and Colin Farrell are circling the Sheldon Turner scripted project, BY VIRTUE FALL. To be the directorial debut of Turner, the story revolves around a man who is framed by his mentor and winds up in prison.
