“X-Men” Star Alexandra Shipp in Talks for “Simon v. The Homo Sapiens Agenda” Adaptation
The upcoming adaptation of Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda, based on the book of the same name by Becky Albertalli, is close to adding its newest cast member in X-Men star Alexandra Shipp.
The name Greg Berlanti is well known in the world of television, primarily as the creator of The CW’s DC universe, but now he’s making his transition back to film and entering talks to direct Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda. The film is in development at Temple Hill Entertainment and New Leaf Literary & Media for Fox 2000.
Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out.
